With the perfect balance of action and adventure, the films have captivated audiences even decades after their time in theaters. Likewise, with the addition of history and the supernatural, there is a little something for everyone to enjoy. However, for as popular as Indiana Jones is, other movies have come close to capturing the same type of magic from the film....

The DC Extended Universe – or, as Warner Bros. are now trying to brand it, Worlds of DC – has a lucrative opportunity to set a distinctive tone and bring the dense, enrapturing DC Comics universe to life on the big screen. Unfortunately, this opportunity has been mostly squandered so far, especially in the villain department. They’ve already screwed up DC’s two most famous and iconic villains: Lex Luthor, who Jesse Eisenberg played as a rip-off of Heath Ledger’s Joker, and the Joker himself, who Jared Leto played as an entitled, tattoo-covered millennial....

There are plenty of bad acting performances in the history of film. Sometimes a perfectly good film is ruined by one bad performance or a scene with huge potential is wasted due to some poor acting that doesn’t do it justice. On occasion, these acting performances reach a level that is so horrifically, unfathomably, and inconceivably bad that the films sort of end up… good. In a very weird way, it’s a phenomenon that has, in some cases, inspired cult followings....

There’s almost too many new Netflix shows coming out to keep track of. No other streaming service is quite as popular or creates quite as much highly-anticipated content. The horror genre is filled with so many subgenres whether it’s found footage or jump-scares, there’s something for everyone. The slow-burn horror subgenre can be fairly divisive, but there can be no denying the draw these types of films have over some horror fans. While everyone is madly in love with the main hero of The Witcher series, Geralt of Rivia, half the fun still lies in the amazing monsters and creatures he faces. Some of them are fearsome, blood-thirsty monsters and others are cursed innocents who deserve better. Wherever they land on the gray spectrum, they are all fascinating and really make Geralt’s story all the better. Some of the best monsters, though, are the gruesome, terrifying ones that were blood-thirsty or very dangerous, but are actually revealed to be innocent or decent beings....

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of the best pieces of media to emerge from Netflix’s many new productions. Based on the comic book with the same name, it features a much more nefarious version of the happy-go-lucky teen witch and her family, placing her not just among other fresh-faced teens but within a magical school filled with cannibalism, sadism and sacrifice to the Dark Lord. The Dark Lord, also known as Satan or Lucifer, is supposed to be the powerful devil himself, capable of all things evil....

Every character on Friends has a particular charm. They all react to each other in a way that, even if you could only see the effect, it wouldn’t be hard to guess the cause. An eye roll from Joey or Chandler? Ross probably just admitted that he gave up sports to become a scientist. A frustrated sigh from Ross? Phoebe probably just told him the “truth” about gravity. Either that or he just found out that Rachel’s father is in town....

While there’s no debating that superhero movies are currently at their absolute best, there was a time where films about masked heroes were more likely to be found in the bargain bin than the blockbuster lists. From the ’60s to the ’90s, most super-offerings were campy, low-budget disasters, often only loosely based on the source material. While there have been one or two since then that are scraping the bottom of the barrel, the movies in this list tend to make Green Lantern look like Oscar material....

What makes for a great performance in horror films? Is it simply creating an iconic character? Or is there much more to it than that? When it comes to male actors, they need to have a ruthless, imposing presence, while also displaying at least a small amount of vulnerability. Being able to relate to, at least in part, and sympathize with their plight goes a long way in creating a memorable role....

Thanks to its 2017 revival, Twin Peaks has been part of the pop culture conversation in the past few years. The TV drama, co-created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, aired for two seasons from 1990 until 1991, and followed the mysterious murder of popular high schooler Laura Palmer.
